To upgrade from Oracle 11gR2 to Oracle 18c/19c, we need to Enterprise Manager.
Copy the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/emremove.sql script from the target 18.0.0.0.0 ORACLE_HOME into the source 11.2.0.4.0 ORACLE_HOME.
Step 1: If database control is configured, stop EM Database Control, using the following command
gt; emctl stop dbconsole
Step 2: Connect to the database using the SYS account AS SYSDBA
SET ECHO ON; SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; @emremove.sql
Without the set echo and server output commands, you will not be able to follow the progress of the script.
[oracle@localhost admin]$ cd /u01/app/oracle/product/18.0.0.0/db_1/rdbms/admin/ [oracle@localhost admin]$ ls emremove.sql emremove.sql [oracle@localhost admin]$ sqlplus / as sysdba SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.4.0 Production on Mon Feb 26 01:46:36 2018 Copyright (c) 1982, 2013, Oracle.
