Today we are going to have look on Cold Backup. Being DBA we are aware of the importance of Backup in Oracle. Different kind of backup has a different kind of uses.

Let’s have look on Cold Backup. Steps for Cold Backup

SQL> create table cold_back(name varchar(100));
Table created.
SQL> insert into cold_back values('********* DATA INSERTED BEFORE BACKUP ***********');
1 row created.
SQL> commit;
Commit complete.

SQL> select name from v$datafile
union
select name from v$controlfile
union
select member from v$logfile;
