Introduction of Multitenant Architecture

A logical backup taken from NON-CDB database can be easily imported into a pluggable database without any overhead.

Let us see the example :

Step 1: Check the database status

Step 2 : Create the directory

Step 3 : Backup using expdp

Step 4 : Connect to CDB database

Step 5 : Create plugagble database if not already created :

Step 6 : Open pluggable database

Step 7 : Connect to pluggable database

Step 8 : Create directory where we can keep exported dmp file.

Step 9 : Create TNS entry for pdb in tnsnames.ora file

Step 10 : Check available tablespaces in pdb.

Step 11 : Add users tablespace asI had it in non-cdb database.

Step 12 : Transfer backup into respective directory and run impdp script
